Mission
Statement: The purpose of the Fayetteville-Manlius Soccer Club is to provide the
children of the Fayetteville-Manlius community with an opportunity to learn
about and develop the skills necessary to play the sport of soccer in an
atmosphere of fun and good sportsmanship.
Over fifteen years ago a group of parents and soccer fans decided that the FM
community should have recreational soccer opportunities for their children and
the other children in town, in hopes of fostering the love of the sport. They
organized the Fayetteville-Manlius Soccer Club and soon were offering
recreational soccer opportunities during both the fall and spring seasons. Out
of the recreational program came FM Travel Soccer, which provides more
competitive opportunities for players who want to “take it up a notch.” Many of
those early players have gone on to play varsity soccer in high school and
continued to play throughout college. It is no secret in Central New York that
the Fayetteville-Manlius High School soccer teams continue to be very strong
forces.
Over the past several years, the FM Soccer Club has grown to its current size of
1200+ players per season, which includes both the Recreational and Travel
Programs.
